The specific action camera used in this video is HEIHEI brand, but the exact same style of camera can be found under dozens of brand names. Chances are if you purchase a camera that claims 16mp photos and 4k video resolution (at 15fps) it will be the same or adequately similar in design that this modification will go smoothly. You can find these cameras even cheaper than the $35 I paid for mine. Here is an ebay search results link that should turn up a lot of options (This is an affiliate link. A lot of you will probably notice a number of black spots on my action camera footage. That is dust on the sensor. It seems my tape didn't do an adequate job of protecting it but I was able to clean the dust off with a little bit of rubbing alcohol on a cotton swab. I think it could have used a cleaning anyway even before I opened it up as I noticed a smudge probably left by someones finger during assembly. Certainly there's not a lot of quality control on a $35 off brand camera.
