Let me show you how we measure the speed of N1 shaft in which you can find Fan, Low pressure compressor and Low pressure turbine
In this video, i will also walk you through the full process of replacing the N1 speed sensor on an Airbus A320 equipped with the CFM56-5B engine.
🔧 What’s Covered:
Sensor location and accessibility (5:00 o’clock position on strut No.6)
Removal and installation procedure
Torqueing and safety checks
Explanation of the sensor’s function and how it works with the EVMU and ECU
Tips for working in tight spaces around the fan frame
The N1 speed sensor is critical for detecting the rotational speed of the LP rotor. It transmits real-time data to the engine control systems and vibration monitoring units. Accurate readings mean safer and smoother flights. 💪✈️
