Robert Machado | How to match ANY Ambient Light for Video (Sony FX9 + Sekonic C800) @robchado | Uploaded 4 years ago | Updated 5 hours ago
In this video, we dive into colorimetry and how I use a Sekonic C800 to match any ambient color temperature. This is especially helpful when lighting interviews so I'm able to walk into any location and perfectly supplement the ambient light. I'll also go over why I now prefer using RGB lights and the negatives of using bi-color LEDs.
For this example, I'm using CCT + ∆uv to recreate light, but the same principle applies when matching ambient light. This video is a little dense. Hold on to your butts.

Special thanks for Gearing Up Productions for letting us check out their Litepanel Gemini. Shot with the Sony FX9 & BMPCC 6K.
FX9 footage graded with Joel Famularo's Phatntom LUTs for Slog3.
