SelectaMark Cat Converter Marking Kits protects one vehicle from catalytic converter theft through forensic marking.
The kit contains two tamper-proof and heat-resistant TESA security labels that are uniquely numbered and impossible to remove in one piece. A specially formulated metal etching compound is then applied over the label to create a permanent visible mark on the metal surface below the label. If the TESA security label is removed the etch remains.
Included in the kit price is free lifetime registration on Selectamark’s Secured By Design (SBD) Police preferred database.
The kit also includes two window warning stickers to advise would-be-thieves that the catalytic convertor has been security marked. Permanently and visibly marked property is less attractive to thieves because it is worth less on the second hand market and the risk of getting caught with stolen property is greatly increased.
