How to Make Your Own Instruments in GarageBand
Learn how to create and save custom sounds in GarageBand for iPad and iPhone.
In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to transform GarageBand’s built-in instruments using plug-ins, EQ, reverb, echo and third-party AUv3 effects. We’ll then save the finished sound so it can be loaded instantly in any future GarageBand project.
This method works with more than software instruments. You can also save complete vocal chains, audio track setups and custom guitar tones, including all their plug-ins and effects.

GarageBand lets you save Touch Instrument settings, plug-ins, EQ and master effects as a custom sound. Once saved, your new sound will appear inside the Custom category and can be used across other songs.
