Hi Everyone, In this follow-up video, I’m answering one of the most common questions from my last video — how to make wooden drawer slides run smoothly.
I walk through the simple finishing and lubrication process I use to keep drawers sliding effortlessly for years.
Here’s the quick breakdown:
I apply a thin, watered-down coat of polyurethane to the inside of the cabinet. This raises the grain, which I sand smooth — sealing the wood and preventing future moisture absorption.
Then, I apply a few strokes of common candle wax to the drawer runners — that’s it!
This simple combo keeps wooden drawer slides running smooth for decades.
