I've made a pair of floating nightstands from an IKEA bamboo cutting boards. I was intended to achieve a minimalist shelve, without legs, lightweight. This is a really easy weekend project that you can do with a table saw and a router. I'm aware this is not able to hold lots of weigh but it's perfecty functional to hold about 2kg without flexing.
