My basement is now beautifully organized thanks to these sturdy and simple wooden shelves. They store two standard plastic totes beneath and two above before they reach my cellar ceiling. This design can easily be scaled to add another shelf on top. It's an easy weekend project using 2x4s and 1/2" plywood. Shelves are a beginner project that require little to no building knowhow, but they will improve your space and add value to your home immediately.
