This is a tutorial about how to make ragdoll physics in 3ds max. I used 3ds max 2009. You can use this method to make animated hair for example (like anime style hairs), or you can assign the bones to a cloth to animate it. There are other features for animate cloth in 3ds max, but sometimes it's useful (for example when you export a models as .smd and your game engine don't have realtime bone or other physics engine). I don't show in this tutorial how to make for the hair don't intersect the head or the body, but you can do it with "define collision pairs".
