✨This Northern Lights Soap was created by Roxanne of @CapricaSoapery It uses the advanced sculpted layers technique to create the beautiful landscape design. Roxanne showcased the sculpted layers technique on an episode of Meet Your Makers on discovery+!
The technique involves using sturdy shapes that slide across the length of the mold to “sculpt” firm soap, leaving behind various designs. The next layer is then poured on top, allowed to harden, and sculpted with the accompanying piece.

For this specific design, we uses a scraper tool created by Belinda of @LoveYourSuds (links below!). You can also create your own scraper tools - we have used cardboard wrapped in shipping tape in the past!
To help achieve the sculpted layers, Roxanne makes a master batch of lye and oils. Then she splits the lye and oil into three phases - one batch for each layer. If you prefer to mix each batch one at a time, you can do that as well. Make sure to have an extra mold handy to scrape the extra soap into.
