How to Make Better Jump Cuts. If you create videos on YouTube, then you know how tough it is to deliver the words what you have to say. You stumble on your words, you get lost, or you completely forget what you wanted to communicate. If you are like me, you have to do multiple takes before you are satisfied. Thankfully, we can cover up our mistakes with jump cuts. However, I see many people do jump cuts the wrong way. It just looks bad!
So, today I am going to tell you what you are doing wrong so you can make better jump cuts. I use Final Cut Pro X in this tutorial, but the concept will work the same in iMovie, Adobe Premiere, Filmora, Sony Vegas, etc.
