Hey, pretty people: It’s time to make your beauty routine a little lighter on the Earth, your body, and your bank account.

Instead of slathering on deodorants with estrogen-mimicking parabens, face washes chock full of lake-polluting microbeads [link to MICROBEADS post], or facial treatments with potentially problematic antibacterials [link to triclosan], why not try something easy and homemade?

Yes, some of the concoctions in the video above might look like we fished them out of the nearest swamp — but we have a hunch that if you give one of these ugly pastes a chance, it might make it into your regular beauty regimen.

And remember: Skin is sensitive, and different for everyone. If these products cause any problems for you, don’t keep using them!
