In this video I show you how I make cold process soap with fresh aloe vera gel.
To make this soap, I replaced the water in the recipe with aloe vera gel that I made from a plant I have at home. I learned how to extract the aloe vera gel watching this video from @Elly’s Everyday Soap Making : youtube.com/watch?v=LuLe1k0JXH0&t=496s
For the recipe I used olive oil, coconut oil & 3 different butters. I wanted to make this a very simple soap so I left it unscented and uncolored.
Cold process soap recipe with fresh aloe vera:
Total batch weight: ~860 g
330 g olive oil (55%)
150 g coconut oil (25%)
60 g cocoa butter (10%)
36 g mango seed butter (6%)
24 g shea butter (4%)
166 g frozen aloe vera gel
83.1 g lye
(33% lye concentration, 6% superfat)
Cure the soap 4-6 weeks before using.
