Step into the workshop, where a simple idea grows into a woodland hat straight out of a fairytale. In this video, I’ll take you through the full journey from shaping EVA foam into a giant tree bark hat, to crafting a glowing acorn lantern, to adding hand sculpted foam clay mushrooms, moss, and forest details that bring the whole piece to life.
Whether you’re making something for Halloween, a Renaissance Festival, cosplay, or just love whimsical fantasy projects, this tutorial will hopefully inspire you to try crafting with what you already have at home.

Hat:
EVA from floor mats
3 mm EVA foam
EVA from scraps variety between 3 mm and 10 mm
High density LED foam
Air dry foam clay.
Plasty dip
Aluminum wire
Fairy lights
2 straws with a bendable neck
Golden matte medium
Plaid FX primer
Mouse:
Wool roving (I use natural colored wool and a Rosie pink and a flesh colored pink)
Jewelry wire for amateur
Sewing pushpins for the eyes
Red scrap fabric
Rhinestone
Sculpey clay
🎨 PAINTS we used:
Paint
Folk art: yellow ocher, dark brown
Liquitex: heavy body, transparent, burnt umber
Blickrylic: titanium white, burnt Sienna
Vallejo game color: heavy skin tone, brass, hot orange, orange fire, flat yellow, pale flesh, sepia, heavy, Sienna
