This is a simple tube skirt that has gathers with shirring elastic around the top. Adding a ruffle to the bottom is optional. Fine fabrics such as viscose work best.
Do test the shirring on a spare piece of the fabric you are using, you may not need to adjust the tension, on my machine I found it worked best when increased to the maximum. Don’t touch the tension on the bobbin case.
Measure your hips, then add half the measurement again. I used 2m of fabric and three spools of shirring elastic. I Also put 1” elastic in a casing around the waistband.
