Welcome back Home Bartenders -This week Ann is shaking the SIDECAR. It's both vintage & classic! This cocktail got it's start in the 1922 but really took off in the 1950's. These 3 ingredients, shaken together create one of the best spirit forward cocktails there are. The sugar rim balances out the citrus while leaving room for the subtle differences between the cognac & Cointreau. A true classic.
Let's Get Shaking!
The Sidecar
1 1/2 oz. (45 ml) Cognac
1 oz. (30 ml) Cointreau
3/4 oz. (22.5 ml) Fresh Lemon Juice
Lemon and sugar for frosting the rim
Garnish: Atomize orange bitters or Flame an orange zest twist or coin over the cocktail.
Glass: Coupe
Recipe found in:
Dale Degroff's newest book. The New Craft of the Cocktail. IG @kingcocktl

Next week: The Gin Daisy
