Learn techniques for how to make a pattern for a prop helmet using low-cost materials with master blacksmith and owner and founder of The Sword and the Stone, Tony Swatton!

In this lesson, Tony Swatton shares a simple, budget-friendly, straightforward method for outlining a pattern. Using only painters' masking tape, aluminum, scissors, and a permanent marker, he demonstrates how to duplicate a piece of armor—in this case, a helmet—by tracing around it to create a 2-dimensional pattern.

The helmet Swatton works with isn’t just any ordinary helmet! It was originally made for an episode of The Magical World of Disney, entitled “A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court.” And it was also used in The Haunted Mansion.
