This tutorial will show you the step-by-step process how I automated the production of my weekly newsletter, AI Unplugged, by creating a Custom GPT

How To Create A Custom GPT (to automate my weekly newsletter):
1. Go to chat.openai.com/gpts
2. Click Create a GPT in the top right corner
3. Choose Configure
4. Choose Create to chat with ChatGPT and get help filling out the Configure Form
5. Fill in:
1. Name: AI Unplugged Newsletter Assistant
2. Instructions: Paste everything ChatGPT recommends
3. Tools: Web browsing OFF, unless you want real-time link fetching
4. Personality Style: Clear, friendly, practical, creator-focus
6. Knowledge: Upload 2-3 Past Issues for Reference (or examples of your work)
7. Add Conversation Starters (example prompts)
1. “Help me write this week’s AI Unplugged newsletter.”
2. “Start a new issue. Title: How I Built My Custom GPT.”
3. “Suggest an inspirational quote for this week’s topic.”
4. “I didn’t pick a tool yet — can you recommend one for creators?”
5. “Summarize what I made this week: [paste your project, tutorial, or link].”
8. Click +Icon and Upload Photo or DALL-E to generate icon image for Custom GPT
9. Click Create — and boom! You’ve got your own newsletter assistant.
10. Set To ‘Only Me’ to keep it Private
11. Click ‘Update’ if you make any changes or modifications
12. Click on ‘View GPT’
13. Test and use Conversation Starters to speed up workflow
14. Go to chat.openai.com/gpts and click on ‘My GPTs’ to access, edit, or delete GPTs
