In this video, I discuss why I have never used and thus cannot endorse specific vocabulary learning products such as Vocabulearn or Anki; why I take a more holistic approach to overall language development; why I recommend a multiple textbook approach followed by years of reading different types of texts in order to truly develop a rich vocabulary; how to make the most of conversational opportunities to internalize new words; how to use specific resources for learning etymological roots in languages very different from your own; and how to plan for a lifetime of language learning by mastering classical languages first and/or studying multiple related languages simultaneously so as to build web of connections between them.
