The Perkins Brothers are laying out the next row of footings — 5 feet (1.5m) out from the house to support the center of the deck. Since this build uses 2x6s (45mm x 140mm), the middle needs extra support for the 10-foot (3m) span. The final row of footings is set 9’8” (3m) out, keeping everything lined up 4" (100mm) in from the deck edge.
