Learn one way of doing a central double increase (cdi) with WEBS designer Kirsten Hipsky. This technique is used in Valley Yarns Pattern 452 Hearts of Oak Hat and will be used again in future Hearts of Oak patterns.
The stitch directions go as follows:
Central Double Increase
Step 1: Insert tip of RH needle down into the right "shoulder" of the
stitch in the row below and knit it
Step 2: Knit into the back of the stitch on the LH needle and move the
st off to the RH needle
Step 3: Insert tip of LH needle into the left shoulder of the same st
you worked into in step 1 and knit it. 2 sts increased.
