About this video: If you want to know how to download and install NeoForge for Minecraft 26.1.2, this is the video for you! We show you exactly how to use NeoForge mods in 26.1.2 including where and how to download them and add them to your game.
To get started, you will need to download the NeoForge Installer. There is a link in the description above that will take you to our complete text guide. On that page, click the "Download" button to be taken over to the official download page.
On the NeoForge download page, select the 26.1.2 version, and click the "Click Here to Download Installer" button. The installer for 26.1 will now begin downloading!
With the Installer downloaded, right-click on it, select "Open With", and choose "Java". If Java is not an option or you don't have it installed, there is a link to download Java in the description above.
Once the installer is open, click "Install Client" and then click "Proceed". NeoForge for Minecraft 26.1.2 will now install. Just make sure that Minecraft and the Minecraft Launcher are both closed while things are installing, otherwise the installation may fail.
We can now move on to installing NeoForge mods for 26.1.2. There is a link to CurseForge and Modrinth above. These are the most popular pages for download mods. Make sure any that you get are for NeoForge, Forge mods won’t work, and Minecraft 26.1.2. You need to check for dependency mods as well since missing those will result in things not working.
With your mods downloaded, open up the Minecraft Launcher and head to the "Installations" tab at the top. You will see a folder icon on the “NeoForge” installation. Click this icon, and your .minecraft folder will open.
Here, you should see a “mods” folder. If not, just create one. Then, drag-and-drop the NeoForge mods you want to install into your mods folder. It’s that easy. After that, play Minecraft with your NeoForge installation, and the mods will be active and working.
