Installing cabinet hardware is a simple project that'll put the finishing touch on your kitchen cabinets. This project requires basic tools that you probably already have. You'll need a drill and bits, a screwdriver, measuring tape, painter’s tape, a hardware mounting templates, and a pen or pencil to mark.

To make sure all the knobs are evenly aligned buy a mounting template from your local hardware store. They're inexpensive, easy to use and eliminate the risk of uneven installation. Align the template in the corner of the cabinet door and use the holes to mark where you want the knob to be installed.

Before drilling place painter’s tape on the back side of the door. This will prevent the wood from splintering when drilling. With a steady hand, begin to drill into the door. Keep the drill level throughout the process for accurate results each time.

Hold the screw in place installing the knob or at least until it's secure enough to finish with the screwdriver. Be sure not to rush through the step. It's best to take your time to avoid damaging the cabinetry with any imperfections on the knob.

Find and mark the drawer's center point. Accuracy is key here because the last thing you want is for your pulls to be off center. Align the center of the drawer template with the mark from step five.

Make sure you know the center-to-center hole measurement of the pulls. Find them on the template and mark each spot. Once you mark the holes repeat steps two through four to finish the project.

And there you have it! Installing cabinet hardware is an easy home improvement project that'll totally change the look of your kitchen.
