In this video we will be going over how we installed both our MaxxFan and MaxxFan Dome on our Mercedes Sprinter.

The first thing you're going to want to do is figure out exactly where you plan on placing your fans in your van. Do you need ventilation in your bedroom or kitchen? Does your bathroom need a vent? All of this adds up to several hours of preplanning so you don't end up with a fan right next to a cabinet door! It's also not a bad idea to think about your solar panel placement with relation to the fan since you won't be able to stack one on top of the other.
We ended up using Google Sketchup and then mocking out some of our framework with 2x2s in order to find the exact locations we needed for our fans.

Then it's on to the install. If you decided to place your fans in the center of your van you can make your life a lot easier buy purchasing a 3d printed bracket that will form the grooves on your roof.

If you aren't mounting in the center you'll need to create a template using some scrap cardboard. You'll also need a handful of other supplies in order to cut your holes and install the fans.

With your holes cut you can clean your edges up with a file and then coat them with a primer.

Then it's on to attaching your bracket to the roof using butyl. We used a 3/4 inch butyl for the fans bracket and 1/4 inch butyl for the vent.

Finally you'll want to seal it all up using flex seal.
