In the world of birds, pigeons get no respect. When it comes to yoga, the pigeon pose demands attention and with these tips on going deeper into the pose you'll be giving it the respect it deserves.
In this series of videos, Yoga Instructor, Laura Martini teaches us how to Go Deeper into common yoga postures. She'll bring your attention to specific body parts, help you make slight adjustments and address common posture mistakes.
In this episode, we open up those hips for a big stretch and total glute liberation. Once you've got your pigeon cooing, Laura says you can put it to bed by folding over you front leg for 'sleeping pigeon' making it more of a passive hip and glute stretch. "If you've already come forward into sleeping pigeon,and you inch your torso forward along your front leg, you will decrease the intensity of the stretch," coaches Laura. Sleeping or alert, its time to go deeper into pigeon pose.
