I used a sanding pad and wiped all the wood surfaces down using a similar action to wiping down my kitchen counters. Not much more pressure is needed than this. I go over each area until I see the finish on the furniture is scuffed up and slightly dusty. Then wipe all the dust off with a tack cloth and it’s ready for paint or primer.
