This is how I give Chris all his medication and it has made our lives so much easier! This method takes less than a minute, he purrs the whole time and no more holding him down and trying to open his mouth. This is so easy!
All you need is a liquid cat treat such as Churru (if you're in the US, they're super expensive here in Sweden) or VitaKraft that I use here. I like it to be not too liquidy to make it easier to really get the pill into his mouth.
I use one of these tubes a day, half for his pill in the morning and half at night.
This method is so great because it is actually enjoyable (!) for the cat, which means life saving medication that doesn't harm your bond. So so important! Some days he gets it on the first go, other days he needs a whole tube of treat!
He gets Felimazole morning and night for hyperthyroidism, but this ofc works with any medication. I'm wearing gloves because this is a hormonal medication.
