A context profile is a small, user-controlled briefing document that helps a fresh AI chat or agent understand who you are, what you are working on, and what should happen next.
In this episode, I explain the three profiles I find most useful: a personal profile for stable preferences, a project profile for goals and decisions, and a handoff profile for moving work between stateless chats and agents. You will see a simple Markdown structure, a before-and-after example, and the privacy and approval boundaries that keep the workflow sensible.
A context profile is not permanent AI memory, model training, or a system override. It is portable background context that you inspect, edit, redact, and deliberately provide.
