I'll show you how to get Soulscourge in Terraria 1.4.5.
To get this weapon, we need to kill the Eye of Cthulhu or the Eater of Worlds.
We'll choose the first option.
It can spawn itself if you haven't killed it before.
You should already have 200 HP and 10 defense for this.
You should also have at least 4 NPCs with houses.

You should get at least 36 Demonite Ore.
If you got less, you need to kill it again.
Next, we smelt it in the Furnace.
And then, on the Iron or Lead Anvil, we process 12 Demonite Bars into the Soulscourge we need.
