This was a very unfortunate event for my friend. His power was shut off and his fridge never turned back on, he was out of town for 3 months and it was the middle of summer, everything in the fridge rotted, maggots infested the fridge. He called me about 2 months into his trip and asked me to check on his house. Ugghhh, it smelled like someone died in there, and there were dead flies everywhere. The fridge was a total loss, but the stink in the house was not going away! Thats when we got an OZONE generator from the local tool rental store and cranked that thing up. I ran it for nearly 48 hours. JUST BE SURE TO HOLD YOUR BREATH WHEN YOU GO IN TO OPEN WINDOWS OR YOU'LL PASS OUT! O-Zone is not a breathable gas. At any rate, the funk was drastically reduced. I highly recommend using this if you have a stinking carcass or other awful smell in the house that you can't get rid of.
