You can restore your Android home screen to its default layout by either resetting your launcher settings or carefully removing/rearranging widgets and apps.
Method 1 — Reset the Launcher (Recommended)
Open Settings on your Android phone.
Scroll down and select Apps or Apps & Notifications.
Tap See all apps and find your current launcher app. Common launcher apps include Google Pixel Launcher, One UI Home, MIUI Launcher, or Nova Launcher.
Tap Storage (or Storage & cache) and then select Clear Data or Clear Storage. Confirm when prompted.
This will reset the home screen layout, remove custom settings and widgets, and restore the default arrangement of apps.
Press the Home button. The phone should now display the default home screen layout.
Method 2 — Manually Restore the Layout
If you do not want to reset your launcher entirely:
Long press on any empty space of the home screen.
Tap Widgets to add any missing widgets back.
Drag app icons from the app drawer back to the home screen in the desired order.
If you previously created folders, you can reorganize the apps into these folders manually.
Method 3 — Switch to Default Launcher
Sometimes third-party launchers create a customized home screen:
Open Settings → Apps → Default apps → Home app.
Select the default system launcher (e.g., Pixel Launcher or One UI Home).
Press Home to switch back to the normal layout.
