If you've played through Fallout 4 a few times like I have, you may start to wonder how anyone could support The Institute. They created life in the form of Synths, and then force that life into doing whatever they want it to do. If a Synth tries to escape and build a life for itself, they send Coursers to retrieve them, erasing the Synths mind and starting fresh. They also withhold technology and resources that could help the people in the Commonwealth to have a better life and think they are better than those who live outside the walls of their labs.
But if you don't know any of that, you fall into the trap of thinking they have the best interest of the Commonwealth in mind. They convince you that the Railroad is to blame for all the problems with Synths, as if Synths wouldn't want to escape without them getting involved. In this video, we'll dive into the inner workings of The Institute and how they use psychology to convince good people to do bad things.
