Samsung tablets experiencing automatic volume changes can usually be fixed by addressing software settings, disabling adaptive features, checking hardware, and updating or resetting the device.

Step 1 — Restart and Soft Reset
Sometimes, temporary software glitches cause volume fluctuations. Simply restart your tablet by holding the power button and selecting restart, which can resolve minor bugs

Step 2 — Check Physical Volume Buttons
Dirty, stuck, or worn-out volume buttons can cause unintended volume changes. Inspect your tablet’s volume buttons, clean around the buttons with a soft cloth, and make sure they aren’t pressed by your case or covers

If damaged, visit a Samsung service center for repair.
Step 3 — Disable Adaptive Sound and Automatic Volume Adjustments
Samsung tablets have features that adjust sound automatically:
Go to Settings Sound and Vibration Adaptive Sound and turn it off

Check for any automatic volume features like “Media Volume Limit” or “Ring Gradually” in Settings Sound and Vibration, and disable them.

Step 4 — Review Routines or Scheduled Settings
Samsung’s One UI routines can adjust volume at certain times or locations:

Open Settings Modes and Routines Routines.
Review routines that modify volume and either edit or delete them to prevent automatic changes

Step 5 — Safe Mode to Identify App Conflicts
Some apps can override system volume, including media players or third-party volume control apps. Boot into Safe Mode to test:
Turn off the tablet.

Press and hold the Power button, then hold Volume Down until the device restarts and “Safe Mode” appears

If volume fluctuations cease in Safe Mode, uninstall recently added or suspicious apps.

Step 6 — Update Software and Apps
Make sure the tablet runs the latest Android version and that apps are updated: Settings Software Update Download and Install, which fixes bugs that may affect volume behavior
