Hey everyone,
My son dropped his boxer in the toilet and it caused the toilet to get clogged.
My sister's handyman came, removed the toilet and took the boxer out, but when he placed the toilet back in its place he caused another problem where the base of the toilet bowl would leak each time we flushed. Sounds gross. Yes, I know.
I decided to look it up on YouTube to see if I could fix this issue on my own. Here is what I did:
1. I Disconnected the water supply to the toilet tank.
2. I flushed the toilet to ensure the toilet tank was empty so that when I emptied the toilet bowl I won't get water flowing in back to the bowl.
3. I then got a container and dipped all the water from the toilet bowl so that when I moved the toilet from its original place, it won't wet the floor.
4. After the water supply has been disconnected and the tank and bowl have been emptied, I moved the toilet.
5. I removed any old wax that was there from the wax ring and placed the wax flange and then wax ring to the top of the sewerage line.
Now things got a little bit tricky as placing the toilet back on top of the wax ring got complicated, because I couldn't see where I was aiming.
I then leaned the entire toilet on the side, placed the wax flange and ring on the toilet instead of over the sewerage line and taped them to the toilet so that when I was lifting the toilet to place it over the sewerage line the wax flange and ring wouldn't fall off.
6. After I put the toilet back in its place I screwed the toilet bowl to the ground. I tried moving the toilet and it was firm.
I realized that leaving the toilet to rest over night allows it to seal better.
