Crux, also known as the Southern Cross, is a season constellation with a very distinctive cross-shaped pattern. Crux can be seen from both the southern and northern hemispheres, however, if you are viewing from the northern hemisphere, it can only be observed from tropical latitudes. Crux has a variety of legends associated with it depending upon the place and culture, especially within the southern hemisphere. There are fascinating celestial objects within the boundaries of Crux, including the Jewel Box Star Cluster and the Coalsack Nebula.
