Here is where to find Ancient Bark, Ancient Lava, and Ancient Bones in Palworld 1.0.
These three rare crafting materials are located inside the three Wildlife Sanctuaries spread across the Palworld map. These are the small islands protected by the large blue shield domes that can be seen from a distance.
Each sanctuary contains a different Ancient Material, but they are also guarded by Level 80 security drones. These drones project red spotlights onto the ground and will open fire if they detect you inside the light.
In this step-by-step guide, I show you where all three Wildlife Sanctuaries are located, how to recognize each Ancient Material, which harvesting tool you need, and how to avoid the security drones patrolling each island.
Ancient Bark is found inside the first Wildlife Sanctuary, located south of the starter area. This is the safest and least heavily defended sanctuary. Look for tree stumps covered in a light teal glow, then use an axe or another woodcutting tool to harvest the Ancient Bark.
Ancient Lava is located inside the second Wildlife Sanctuary, on the blue lava island north of the volcanic region. This sanctuary has two aggressive security drones patrolling the area. Look for blue glowing rocks and use a pickaxe or another mining tool to collect the Ancient Lava.
Ancient Bones are found inside the third Wildlife Sanctuary, located far to the northeast beside the Great Desert. This is the most heavily defended sanctuary, with three security drones patrolling the island. Search for piles of ribcages and other ancient bones scattered around the area, then harvest them with a mining tool.
