I simple way to find a large vacuum leak on the series I supercharged 3800 (3.8l) found in many GM vehicles. GM put out a TSB about a failed gasket between the supercharger and lower intake manifold for this engine. The conditions seen are a check engine light P0141 and/or P0171 for a low signal on the oxygen sensor and a lean condition. It usually causes the engine to run bad and idle high. Hope this helps!
