This practical feeding demonstration shows how I prepare cucumber for shrimp, fish and snails. I peel the skin, split the cucumber and use a stainless-steel fork to keep it on the bottom, then show the animals beginning to feed. Peeling may reduce residues on the surface, but it cannot guarantee that every pesticide residue is removed—use produce you trust, wash it thoroughly and remove uneaten food before it spoils.
