Charging my Nokia cellphone from single
1.5V battery with Joule thief
connected to input of a 12-24V
car charger which gives 5V output.
Ideal for Android phone, too. This is not like other videos where they use small 2n2222 transistors. I used N power transistor in T0 220 housing and there is stable 5V at the output of car charger. Just how it should be. If I connected it directly to joule thief trough diode than voltage would vary from 0 to 10-15V in spikes which could confuse charging controller inside a phone.
