The character design process can seem like a challenge at first but in this process, I wanted to explain the thought process behind every detail and how I get to the finished product. Breaking down the design issues and goals like this makes the process easier to get through without relying on guesswork.
This might not be that talked about in youtube tutorials in general but if youre doing a character design for a client. Being able to verbalize this process can massively help you in selling your design. Just doing a picture that looks good is only 50% of the work to get that character through the production line so I recommend not sweeping this aspect under the rug.
Extra technical tips are added to text popups throughout the video.

Learning to paint digitally isnt about knowing how every filter, blend mode and widget works. Its really about spending a lot of time just actually painting and finishing art.
In this video I cover methods on how you can modify your workflow to learn how to use brush strokes that are big bold and unique to the way you paint.
Please note that this is a video on how to learn these things. You will still need to do the actual work.
But if you stick with this exercise and gradually increase the difficulty with these suggested methods I have no doubt that you will eventually paint better, faster and with a voice of your own.
