Here is a very simple way to increase the amount of diamonds you find while mining. This method is very easy to implement. When you find a Lapis lazuli cluster while mining you need face in the North Direction and go 2 to 3 blocks forward and dig straight down, and reset from the south side of the chunk if you hit a chunk border. Lapis Lazuli blocks are correlated to diamond blocks in this way roughly 75% of the time.
