* note * in this video, I did not go for a dramatic color change because I am doing a subtle color that is more low maintenance for the school year, this video is to just show you the process of how I color my hair, it is not to show you a dramatic change in color.
✚ TIPS:
- Wear an old tee or a black tank, whatever is necessary
- Apply Vaseline along your hairline to avoid staining on your forehead
✚ F.A.Q.
- I have never bleached my hair ~ a few years ago, I went to the salon to had my color "lifted" but that was the only time, after that I just used box dyes (browns and reds) and so my hair is just a mix of dyes
- I cannot guarantee that this is what you will get, everyone's hair is different, so your hair may not take the color as well as mine.
- I only needed to use one box dye, my hair is more on the thin side, there's just a lot of it.
If your hair is thicker and longer, you may need another box
- Reds wash out so easily! I try and preserve my red hair by washing it every other day or every 2 days with cold-lukewarm water and with a specific hair shampoo and conditioner that doesn't strip the color ( I recommend Redken Extreme). Doing this allows my hair color to last for up to a month, though this hair color **warning** is not long lasting to start out with. Also avoid chlorine and staying in the sun for prolonged periods of time. (apply a hair color protectant if necessary)
