In this easy horse drawing tutorial I'll teach you how to draw and sketch the basic proportion of the horse's head correctly using simple shapes and some basic measuring. My approach is a simple step by step method that beginners to drawing and sketching can follow. Once the basic head is drawn and the proportion is correct, I demonstrate how to develop the outline and sketch the details such as the ears, nose and eyes.
Once the details have been drawn I explain how to sketch in the shading to make the head look more life-like. Finally, using a piece of graphite, I'll show you how to make the horse's head stand out from the background to create a three dimensional look to your sketch or drawing. This art tutorial is aimed at beginners and those wishing to develop their drawing skills and art techniques.
