Okay, let's draw a cute and easy cat! We'll use simple shapes.
Step 1: Draw the Head and Body Guides
Lightly draw a circle for the cat's head.
Draw an oval shape for the body below the circle and slightly overlapping it. Make the oval a bit wider at the bottom.
Step 2: Add the Ears and Basic Leg/Tail Guides
On top of the head circle, draw two triangular shapes for the ears.
Lightly sketch four short lines coming down from the body oval where the legs will be.
Draw a simple curved line extending from the back of the body oval for the tail.
Step 3: Refine the Body Shape and Add Legs & Tail
Smooth out the connection between the head and body.
Flesh out the legs around the guidelines you drew. Think of them as simple sausages or slightly tapered shapes. The back legs might have a slight bend (hock).
Make the tail thicker around the guideline. You can make it curved upwards or swishing.
