THE LIST:
HARLEY SAFETY INSPECTION & CRITICAL FASTENERS
Exhaust clamps, bolts – any rubbing
Rear shocks
Rear brake mechanism hitting anything
Rear tire - cocked or rubbing? Tire wearing evenly? Damage?
Rear wheel bearings – leaking, smooth?
Rear ABS sensor wiring
Rear spokes
Inspect drive belt, both sides. Belt tension.
Bolts on rear sprocket
Rear turn signals loose
Inside rear fender wiring

Under seat inspection
Left side cover off, battery cables both ends
Primary & derby cover bolts tight
Shift mechanism tight.
Oil leaks behind primary
Horn mount & wiring
Spark plug wires & boots
Stabilizer under fuel tank
Kickstand
Oil leaks underneath engine
Foot peg tightness

Head bearing smooth, no binding
Bars not loose - bushings
Bolts on triple tree
Front tire wear, condition
Front wheel bearings, ABS sensor wiring
Front fork – no klunk
Fender bolts, caliper bolts
Front spokes
Axle bolts
Front wiring not loose
Brake lines not leaking
Brake master cylinders – fluid levels, not leaking
F/R brake pad wear
Front & rear fluid level check
 
Handlebar control housing screws tight
Mirrors
Operation of all lights, switches, beep horn
Front light alignment, turn signal tightness
Throttle operation, Clutch play, cable routing & condition
Windshield

Engine guard bolts
Motor mounts
Air cleaner tightness
Transmission, right side bolts
Fuel tank mount bolts
