Alright, I solved the problem. I apparently wasn't doing enough damage to kill myself. Before I apparently capped out at around 2000 reflect damage per target. The health weirdness was because the last target calculated into the hit might have been taking a lower or higher damage hit than usual, making the reflected do different amounts of damage to my life pool. So every hit I'm left with random amounts of life.
I removed every piece of life gear and upped my damage and crit multiplier. I can now die to reflect with capped resistance. OP faggot, order restored. Post video soon.
The answer is yes. You can die to reflect through vaal pact, you just have to do
Max Life/(1-resistance)/.2 reflect percent = Single hit damage to die to reflect through Vaal Pact
That much damage. In my case, it had to be over 68,000 single hit damage with 3k life. I was only doing around 30-40k tops. With crit weakness, 60,000ish. Close, but not enough to die through vaal pact. Only enough to leave my health pool at strange random levels.
The life I was left with before was probably the reflect damage of the last target calculated from the hit. Lightning does completely random damage, so I was always left with completely random amounts of life.
