How to Deploy LXC Container in Proxmox with Terraform
Terraform is an infrastructure-as-code software tool created by HashiCorp. Users define and provide data center infrastructure using a declarative configuration language known as HashiCorp Configuration Language (HCL), or optionally JSON.
In this Terraform Proxmox Tutorial you will learn how to how to configure Proxmox and create VMs in Proxmox with Terraform.
We can deploy VMโs on Proxmox with Terraform by using โuser/passwordโ authentication method, or by using API key method. For this example we will use API key method.
The whole process is simple as:
- Install Terraform
- Determine authentication method for Terraform to interact with Proxmox (user/pass vs API keys)
- Terraform basic initialization and provider installation
- Develop Terraform plan
- Terraform plan
- Run Terraform plan and watch the lxc container appear
