The slip stitch is the smallest of the basic crochet stitches. It is abbreviated sl st and this is useful to know when reading a pattern.

The slip stitch is considered to be a technique more than it is considered to be a stitch. This is because it has several uses when crocheting. In this tutorial I will two of those uses. Which are moving across stitches without adding any height and crocheting in a circle when working in the round.
