In this video I want to show you how to do the chainless foundation with a single crochet. This is a very cool trick because you are doing your starting chains and your first row of single crochet at the same time.
It makes the bottom of your work much more stretchy and nice than if you used a regular chain.
I will walk you through the whole process, starting with a slip knot and two chains. We will use those first chains to act as our first single crochet. I show you exactly where to insert your hook into the bottom loops so that the project stays strong.
We will practice the steps of pulling through one loop to make the "chain" part and then pulling through two loops to finish the "single crochet" part.
This is a great skill if you hate counting long chains or if your chains are always too tight.
