Today I am showing you a very useful trick for your crochet projects called the chainless foundation double crochet.
This is a great way to start because you make your chain and your first row of double crochet stitches at the exact same time. It is much faster than doing a long chain first and your project will have a lot more stretch at the bottom.
I will show you how to start with a slip knot and four chains which count as your first stitch. We will go through the steps slowly so you see exactly how to yarn over and where to put your hook at the bottom of each stitch so they sit in a perfect row.
Using this technique means you don't have to count long starting chains anymore and it makes the bottom of your work look very professional.
